Mako sharks are one of the world’s top gamefish. They are world-renowned for their aggressiveness and wild acrobatics when hooked. Highly visible when enticed within casting range, mako sharks readily take flies near the surface, and provide great photo and video opportunities both in and out of the water during their frequent aerial displays!

The purpose of the tournament is to promote sustainability, conservation and sound management of mako sharks and other apex predators. The Flying Mako™ tournament will enforce a strict catch-and-release policy for all sharks hooked and fought to the boat. Barbless hooks are required. For obvious reasons, participants are not allowed to lift sharks out of the water!! The action in the video starts in the minute 7:50, where we can see the shark flying around and giving a good spectacle!
